“My creed, my code of conduct for life is, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength’ (Deuteronomy 6:5 NKJ). When a man loves God from his gut it affects every single area of his life and every decision of his life. A man who lives his life to please God will be a man of integrity and conviction in every area of his life.

“How do you move from success to significance? ‘And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up (Deuteronomy 6:6-7 NKJ). A man moves from success to significance when he has the vision to transfer the truth of God from his own heart to the next generation. That’s how a man moves from success to significance. He transfers the truth in his own life to his children by living out the truth of God before them.

“Reputation is what people think you are. Character is what you are when no one else is around. A true leader does not separate his private life from his public life. What a man is in private is what he will ultimately be in public. A man can fool the public, but he cannot fool his children. And when they see the truth of God in his own life, his children will be very prone to emulate the model and example of their father. That is significance.”
